we have this report from nevada. >> are these the first signs of recovery for the construction industry in las vegas? it is not what it seems. she is not building, she is toward writing. there is plenty of land and spare machinery for a business renting diggers by the hour. >> it is sad the way the construction industry died. it was overnight. nobody expected it. i think people are waiting it out, but i think people are all looking for other avenues rather than stay in construction. i think there are reinventing themselves right now because they have to. >> down the road, another far less glamorous site of vegas, a free food line. here.jackie's first time she lost her house and everything in a just two years before the mortgage was all. michael is well qualified, but surviving. he's putting his passion into the pawn shop. >> fortunately, i was able to put on my music equipment. now have to do something for december. i have to save up money. it is difficult. >> it will get worse. unless the new the reelected president and political leaders on both sides agree on a plan to stop the u.s. g

this year a couple of months ago, in nevada we found the largest oil deposit they think ever on record. they think it rivals if not passes saudi arabia. from what i read in the statis it beings u.s. on line by 2017 to 2020 to surpass saudi arabia in the production of oil and gas to supply the world. melissa: you're talk about fracking and talking about shale. that is good point. does this make the case for shale and fracking when you at the same time we're hearing about the bp settlement? we're remind of a story, 4.5 dal billion in fines at the same time we're looking at photos like this, that maybe while it is obviously a vote for offshore drilling, does it encourage more onshore shale and fracking? >> i would think yes because if there were a spill it could absolutely be contained right there. we can continue the spill on land. and it is not, it doesn't spill the way they do fracking. the process is such, really only spillage water they're using, some steam to clean it up. of course it is not environmentally perfect and i'm not saying it is but we have to save the american way. i thi

every major ski resort in the tahoe area in nevada or northern california will be open by friday much better than last year where we had no snow until early december. back here in the bay area the bay bridge with a backdrop of mainly cloudy skies. concord 58. san francisco 61. cloudy in san jose. currently 62 degrees. the set up in the atmosphere is this. there is a large area of pressure approaching the bay area. it will take time to get here and time to leave. the first wave of rainfall gets here tomorrow morning, sloppy morning commute to wrap up the workweek and a rough drive home. this low pressure is going to take the weekend to get out leaving finally on sunday afternoon. so that's most of friday all of saturday and most of sunday looking wet. let's time the first wave for you because we're look at steady to heavy rainfall especially north of the golden gate on friday morning with scattered showers and kind of throughout the day picking up in intensity once again by 6:00 tomorrow night. highs tomorrow with the cloud cover with the rain, a little below normal. san francisco 62.

let's talk with republican congressman joe peck of nevada, a member of the house intelligence committee. representative peck, thank you. what did general petraeus tell your committee this morning? >> well, he went over the points that he brought out in the hearing when he came before us september 14th. and talked to us about how that intelligence had evolved over time and where they are today with the understanding of what happened in benghazi and really the only thing that significantly changed was the fact we now know there was no spontaneous protest taking place outside of the embassy facility, the compound prior to the attack on the embassy. and we also have a better understanding of what groups might have been involved in perpetrating that deadly attack. >> do we know for sure that there was no spontaneous or are you just gath thaerg frering th looking at the video or from the testimony? >> no, we have been told that the intelligence community has now assessed that there was no spontaneous attack outside of the embassy prior to the attack on the facility. >> does this change your m

i'm joined by a congressman from nevada. good to have you here today. >> thanks, martha. martha: i know you were in the initial briefing that general petraeus gave back on september the 14th where he claimed that the video, the anti-muslim video was really the impetus for this attack. was it a different story that you heard today? >> well i think, first director petraeus went over what he told us back on the 14th and i compared that to the notes that i had taken during that hearing and it was very similar. what he did today was tell us where, through the process ofee value waiting on going intelligence the story changed. what was initially presented on the 14th over the dores o course of the intervening weeks and months did change. he said this attack was perpetrated by extremist groups. certainly there was information of what groups may have been considered to be involved, however, that was classified at the time and not put out to the public. then he walked us through the process and here is where we realized our initial assessment was off on this point. martha: i have
